Readiness to Learn promotes student success by facilitating the combined efforts of schools, families, and communities to address the needs of the whole child. Sheree Johnston has a responsibility throughout the district to assist students and their families. Referrals may be made for basic needs, such as food, clothing and shelter. She coordinates with the school district nurses on health needs including vision, dental care. Mental health/wellness referrals are also coordinated with school counselors and psychologists. Referrals are made to a variety of community resources to assist in meeting a variety of needs.
